Turkish Airline begins Rwanda flights

Turkish airline on Wednesday inaugurated its flights to Rwanda with a Boeing 747-800 from Istanbul.

The Rwandan minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Louise Mushikiwabo said that the new route should be used by travellers who wished to develop their businesses in Rwanda.

The Turkish airline will operate three flights a week between Kigali and Istanbul, Mr Temel Kotil, managing director of Turkish Airline, said.

Several airlines from Europe, Asia and other capitals across Africa operate regular flights to the Rwandan capital Kigali.

To face competition on the Rwandan market, the Rwandan airline has launched a programme to acquire new planes.
