The US has condoled with the government and peopl e of Ethiopia over Monday’s crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 409, with 90 peop l e on board, shortly after taking off from Beirut, Lebanon, en route Addis Ababa.
In a statement obtained by PANA here, the US Embassy in Addis Ababa expressed ” our deepest condolences” over the crash.
”Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who were in this terrible accident,” the Embassy said.
It said Ethiopian Airlines was a ”demonstrated leader” in safe and reliable ci vil aviation in Africa and internationally.
”The Embassy and Government of the United States stand prepared to assist Ethio pian Airlines and Ethiopian and Lebanese officials to support the investigation i nto this tragedy,” the Embassy said.
