The sixth edition of the Libyan-Tunisian tourism day began in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city, Saturday evening.
The three-day economic and cultural event, jointly organised by the Libyan Gener al Office of Tourism and Crafts and the Tunisian National Office of Tourism, is f ocused on the exhibition of product samples of national crafts industries and sh o wcasing of travel and tourism opportunities in both countries.
Several Libyan officials, heads of both countries’ tourism departments as well as individuals interested in the sector attended the opening session of the event.
A source close to the Libyan Office of Tourism in Benghazi said the event was organised as part of efforts by the countries’ leaders to consolidate bilateral relations in all areas, including their interest in the tourism sector.
The first edition of the Libyan-Tunisian tourism day took place in 2003 also in Benghazi.
