Ridha Saidi, Minister Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of Economic affairs told Express Fm Monday that the production of phosphate in the region of Gafsa will resume its normal pace by the end of August.
He appealed to the communities of Um Larayes and Metlaoui to join in the efforts to facilitate transport to the processing units of a stock of 2 million tons stored in these two areas.
He said that from a total of 4.5 million tons expected this year, only 1.3 million tons have been produced to date, regretting the decline in production at a time when world phosphate prices are climbing.
