The number of passengers carried on board Tunisair aircraft, all activities combined, increased by 11% in the 4th quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015. This number reached 666,321 compared to 602 269 in 2015.
For the full year 2016, Tunisair carried 2,991,841 passengers against 2,743,757 in 2015, according to the site of the Tunis Stock Exchange.
Tunisair’s quarterly activity indicators also show a load factor of 71.8% in the last three months of 2016, compared with 68.7% for the same period of 2015.
The average revenue per passenger is about 225 dinars for scheduled flights (219 dinars in 2015). As for charter flights, the average revenue is 11,606 dinars, per flight hours (10,529 dinars in 2015).
The airline also reported that transportation revenues increased by 9% from 177.901 MTD during the period October-December 2015 to 194.647 MTD for the same period of 2016.
It also revealed that the average fuel price per ton decreased by 14% compared to the 4th quarter of 2015 and the increase in personnel costs by 8%.
