Tunisia-France: coordination with transportation stakeholders

Tunisia’s ambassador to France Karim Jamoussi, chaired at the headquarters of the embassy on July 1, a meeting with the Director General of Tunisair France, the Director of Nouvelair France & Europe, the Director of Operations and Security of Airfrance and the Director of Operations and Security of Transavia as well as leaders of Tour Operators and travel agencies serving the destination Tunisia.

This fits into the meetings held by Tunisia’s embassy in France with stakeholders in the transport sector, during the past months, and to address the concerns expressed by Tunisians Residents in France regarding the conditions of their return to the country during the summer season 2021.

It aimed at discussing the current health situation in Tunisia and monitoring the progress of bookings in air and sea transport between Tunisia and France.

In order to unify and harmonize the interpretation of measures concerning travel to Tunisia, Ambassador Jamoussi reviewed the latest recommendations decided by the Tunisian authorities on June 29 and highlighted the following points:

– For travelers holding Tunisian nationality or dual nationality, their return to their country of origin is not subject to any restrictions, they just need to prove their Tunisian nationality (passport, consular card, birth certificate or certificate of nationality in French …);

– Anyone wishing to travel to Tunisia must have a negative PCR test with a QR Code, dated less than 72 hours for all arrivals in Tunisia, even for those who have received the 2 doses of vaccine.

The Ambassador said that these new measures have been taken to contain the spread of the virus in Tunisia. He promised in this regard to continue coordination with the relevant French authorities to avoid any possible confusion and meet, as best as possible, the expectations of Tunisians who wish to spend their annual vacation in their country.
