Tunisia: Life insurance is worth 1.1 billion dinars

The turnover of the life insurance segment reached 1.1 billion dinars over the past year, representing 30% of the total revenue of the insurance sector in Tunisia.

President of the National Chamber of Life Insurance Providers, Karim Kéfi, explained on Express FM that this growth reflects real momentum in the sector, adding that this share could double in the coming years given the opportunities and prospects offered by life insurance.

He noted that the Chamber, established 14 years ago, plays an essential mediating role between policyholders and insurance companies by facilitating policy subscriptions and contributing to the improvement of the legislative framework and tax system for the benefit of the sector.

Kéfi also stressed the importance of awareness campaigns aimed at increasing public understanding of the benefits of life insurance.

According to him, this type of insurance is still too often associated solely with loan applications or death cases, whereas it offers much broader financial guarantees and services, thereby contributing to the financial stability of individuals and families.
