A mobile market dedicated to Tunisian handicrafts has been at Piazza Mazzini in Lecce, Italy, since last Saturday.
Organized by the Tunisian National Handicrafts Office (ONAT) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) through the “Creative Tunisia” project, the market will run until October 26, 2025.
Bringing together nearly 20 Tunisian artisans, the event showcases a living and creative heritage, featuring natural fiber baskets, colorful ceramics, olive wood trays, foutas, weavings, and decorative items.
Visitors can admire these authentic creations and attend live demonstrations, offering a unique immersion into Tunisian artisanal craftsmanship.
Funded by the European Union and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) under the Tounes Wijhetouna program, the “Creative Tunisia” project aims to strengthen Tunisia’s artisanal and design value chains.
It supports the sector’s competitiveness, promotes product upgrading, and facilitates access to both national and international markets.
