Tunisia buys estimated 75,000 tons of barley in tender

Tunisia’s state grains agency is believed to have purchased about 75,000 metric tons of animal feed barley in an international tender on Friday, Reuters quoted European traders as saying.

The barley was said to have been bought at the lowest price of $257.00 a ton cost and freight (c&f) for 25,000 tons expected to be sourced from Russia.

The seller was said to be trading house Euro Commodities.

Two other 25,000-ton consignments were purchased, to be sourced from optional origins.

One was bought at an estimated $268.49 a ton c&f from trading house Casillo and another at $267.25 a ton c&f from Bunge.

Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are possible later.

The grain was sought from optional origins in three consignments of 25,000 tons for shipment between November 25 and December 30 depending on the origin selected for supply.
