Tunisia has reinforced its economic presence in sub-Saharan Africa by organizing two economic forums.
The first took place in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, from November 17 to 19, followed by a second in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on November 20 and 21.
These events, focused on bolstering economic diplomacy, aimed to promote trade exchanges and open new opportunities for Tunisian companies, according to the Tunisian Embassy in Kinshasa.
Present at both forums, Tunisia’s ambassador to Kinshasa, Mehrez Ferchichi, emphasized the importance of such initiatives to explore new markets and strengthen Tunisia’s presence in a promising African space rich in investment potential.
In Brazzaville, the opening session brought together key economic figures, including Michel Djombo, President of the Congo Employers’ and Interprofessional Union (Unicongo) and Chief of Staff of the Brazzaville Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In Kinshasa, DRC Minister of Foreign Trade Julien Baluku praised the quality of Tunisian products and stressed the need to establish strategic and sustainable partnerships between the two countries.
The forums provided a direct platform for Tunisian and Congolese business leaders to build connections and explore concrete avenues of cooperation.
The Tunisian delegation also held bilateral meetings and conducted field visits to local companies.
The event was attended by the Director General of the Export Promotion Agency (CEPEX) and the Vice-President of the Federation of Congolese Enterprises (FEC).
