African airport administrators to meet in Bamako

Over 50 airport and aviation officials are expected to participate in the Fourth General Assembly of the Union of Airport Administrators from Central and West Africa from 21 to 23 October in the Malian capital, Bamako.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) says the meeting is expected to look into the challenges facing the organization and management of African airports against the background of effects of the worldwide economic downturn on air transport and anticipated average rise in the industry of 5% per year over the next 15 years.

ICAO says delegates will be seeking a framework to provide the best security level and quality services to economic operators, airport users and passengers.
