‘African countries invested US$9.33bn in China in 2009’

African countries invested some US$9.33 billion in China in 2009, according to a report published by the Chinese government on China-Africa economic and trade relations.

The 29-page report said the investments were mainly in the petrochemical industry, equipment, electronics, transport and communications.

It said the major African investors in China during the period were Tunisia, Mauritius, South Africa, the Seychelles and Nigeria
