Tunisia’s clothing sector exports have exceeded the equivalent of six billion dinars up to August 31, 2025, Haythem Bouajila, President of the Tunisian Federation of Textile and Clothing, announced on Thursday on Midi Eco.
He added that this figure is in line with results from previous years, which recorded totals between 9 and 9.6 billion dinars, despite the global situation and increasingly tough competition from countries like Egypt, which invests heavily in denim and jeans.
Bouajila emphasized that Tunisian products are moving upmarket, which partly explains their ability to withstand international competition.
On another note, he said that while the clothing sector remains one of the driving forces of the national economy, most Tunisian companies face challenges due to a shortage of skilled labor, transport issues, smuggling, and the parallel market.
