Djerba-Zarzis International Airport recorded a significant increase in air traffic in 2025, welcoming over 2.3 million passengers across 16,777 flights, representing a 6.5% rise in passenger numbers and a 2.7% increase in aircraft movements compared to the previous year.
According to data published by the Ministry of Transport in response to a written question from MP Halim Boussema to the Assembly of People’s Representatives, this growth is mainly due to a sharp increase in international flights, with passenger traffic up 8.1% and aircraft movements up 5.3% compared with 2024.
To strengthen the tourism appeal of Djerba-Zarzis and improve services, the Ministry of Transport allocated an investment budget of around TND 63.4 million for 2025–2026, followed by an additional TND 14.2 million planned for 2027–2030.
These projects aim to modernize infrastructure and safety equipment, improve operational facilities and service quality, and support digital transformation while adopting sustainable development standards.
These upgrades will ensure that Djerba-Zarzis International Airport maintains its key role as a major gateway for the tourist area and the southeast of Tunisia.
