PROPARCO (Promotion and Participation for Cooperation), a branch of the French Development Agency (AFD), has offered a loan of US$ 50 million to the pan-african Eco-bank.
In a communiqué published in Lomé, PROPARCO said that the loan would enable Eco-bank to strengthen its resources in the long term and to support the development of its network of local banks.
It said that Eco-bank, which has branches in 35 African counties, will also use the money to strengthen its intervention capacity and its role in the development of the local economy, namely among the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
