The Gambian government Wednesday launched the United Nation’s 20th Human Development Report which put the West African nation at 151 out of a league table of 169 countries that were computed in the study, PANA confirmed from here.
The report, entitled “The Real Wealth of Nations: Pathways to Human Development”, tried to look at issues such as poverty, climate change as they relate to the quality of human life.
During the formal launching ceremony, Gambian Vice-President Isatou Njie-Saidy underscored the government’s drive towards attaining “universal primary education by 2015” in the country.
This year’s report has seen Gambia scaling upwards by a percentage point over that of the 2009 ranking
