Tunisia: premium of 150 TD /month and discount in transportation for unemployed graduates pending work.

Providing details, at a press conference held today Wednesday, January 12, 2011, on the presidential measures of January 10 to stimulate the creation of jobs and businesses, Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi announced the decision to grant a monthly premium of 150 Tunisian dinars (TD) for every young unemployed graduate, plus a discount in public transportation and free medical coverage. This premium will be given, however, only to those among young unemployed holders of graduate degrees, who are willing to engage in a cultural, associational, educational, social or development activity, supervised by specialized structures and half-time only. This will avoid encouraging unemployment and allow the unemployed to find the right job or pursue training pending their final recruitment.
