IMF says meeting with Libyan officials ‘in sight’

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is to organise a meeting with Libyan leaders in an effort to assess funding requirements.

“A meeting will soon bring together the Libyan authorities and IMF officials,” the spokesman of the Bretton Woods institution, David Hawley, was quoted by the Libyan News Agency as saying.

Mr. Hawley said the date for the meeting would soon be set.

He added that the issues that would be discussed would mainly focus on the preparation of a comprehensive economic framework, evaluation of the capacity of managing public finance and operations of the Central Bank of Libya (BCL).
