Tunisia improved its ranking in the Prosperity Index, moving from 99th in 2020 to 96th in 2021, according to the latest edition of the Legatum Institute report. Yet, Tunisia dropped 30 spots compared to 2011 (67th).
The country performed poorly in Social Capital (155th), a key criteria, Economic Quality ( 112th, the report released in November 2021 shows.
The country has a poor ranking in health and education (94th), security (125th) and environment (139th).
In Africa, Tunisia took the 8th spot behind Nambia (7th place in Africa and 92nd worldwide), and Morocco (6th in the African continent and 91st in the world).
