Libya’s oil crisis meant to discredit government, says parliament

The official spokesperson of Libya’s General National Congress (GNC), Omar Ahmeidane, said here Monday that the oil crisis in Tripoli, the Libyan capital, was man made and meant to create anarchy in the country.

He declared that the GNC and the government had found out that the crisis was not linked to the scarcity of oil but mainly to security problem.

According to Ahmeidane, fuel is available in sufficient quantities to the local consumers, so there is a deliberate attempt to block the filing stations in a bid to create scarcity and serious security problem.

The Libyan Government and the GNC had initiated a plan to solve the problem by putting sufficient supplies at the disposal of the population.

Moreover, fully equipped personnel from the army and the police have been deployed to  the filling stations in Tripoli to secure and organize fuel sales.
