Tunisia: Only 11% of Britons would book if flight restrictions are quashed

Only 11% of British tourists would book getaways to the Egyptian resort or Tunisia if flight restrictions were quashed, a survey by Travelzoo has shown.

It comes that safety is now the most important consideration for British tourists when booking their summer breaks.

Some 71% of the 2,000 respondents said they were choosing destinations based on how safe they feel it is.

Although most said they would be reluctant to travel to the North African destinations immediately, 43% did admit they would be willing to travel to the resort in the near future.

Security beat affordability (52%) and good weather (42%) as Brits’ most important concern in the online survey, which studied the travelling habits of 2,000 customers.

Results also found that a number of travelers will be staying closer to home this summer, with 27% voting the UK as their most popular choice of destination for 2016, with Spain in second place (21%) and France (10%) just behind with in third.
