Malian President Touré to attend ECOWAS summit

Malian President Amadou Toumani Touré will leave Bamako on Monday for Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital, to take part in the 36th summit of heads of state of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), offici a l sources told PANA on Friday.

He will also take part in a special ECOWAS-Spain summit, the sources said.

ECOWAS, which was established in 1975, brings together Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape -Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Nige r , Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
