Marketing season for Ivorian coffee starts Friday

The 2012-2013 marketing season for Ivorian coffee will start on Friday, 21 December, according to a communiqué released at the end of the council of ministers.’ meeting.

A kilogramme of dried, husked and sorted coffee will be sold CFA F 620, an increase of CFA F 120 over last year’s figure, the communiqué indicated.

It said the new price follows government’s desire to boost the sector by raising the quality of its coffee.

Cote d’Ivoire, ranked third among the world’s largest coffee producing countries, lost this position due to recurring political crises in the West African country.
