Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz Sunday inaugurated a power plant in the town of Sélibaby, 680km South-east of the capital, Nouakchott.
The plant is part of a programme initiated by the Organization for Adding Value to River Senegal (OMVS) which includes Guinea, Mali, Mauritania and Senegal.
Funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the 225/90/30kv power plant is equipped to supply electricity to neighbouring countries.
