Angola’s state-owned Sonangol E.P company and Tepa, a subsidiary firm of the oil firm Total, on Thursday announced the discovery of a new oil well, located in the north-eastern zone of Block 17/06, in deep waters of the Angolan offshore.
According to a communiqué, received Thursday by the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP) in Luanda, the capital, the well is located at Begonia.
It is the second well explored successfully in the country with a trial production capacity of over 6,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
While Sonangol is the concessionaire of Block 17/06, Total is the explorer based on a 30 per cent participation.
