Rwanda Airline Rwandair operated its maiden commercial flight between Kigali and Libreville (Gabon) via Brazzaville (Congo) Wednesday, with Boeing 737-500, according to its Chief Executive Officer, John Mirenge.
Founded in 2020, Rwandair currently operates direct flights to several African cities like Johannesburg (South Africa), Entebbe (Uganda), Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Bujumbura (Burundi) and Nairobi (Kenya).
The Kigali-Libreville flight will be operated three times a week.
Rwandair, which partners with Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines and Air Uganda, also flies to Dubai three times a week.
Its fleet of five aircraft is to be boosted with two Boeing 737-800 aircraft later this year
