Société Tunisienne de Banque (STB) was officially honored during a ceremony held at Euronext Paris following its acquisition of the AML 30001 certification, an international benchmark in combating money laundering, terrorism financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The distinction was awarded after a rigorous audit conducted by accredited certification body COFICERT, confirming that STB’s financial security framework complies with international best practices and standards in risk management and regulatory compliance.
The certification crowns a broad transformation program launched by the bank more than three years ago.
The initiative mobilized all relevant stakeholders around a common objective: strengthening transparency and integrity in financial transactions, a key challenge for a national public bank committed to supporting the economy and preserving public trust.
During this period, STB undertook major reforms aimed at consolidating its financial security system, strengthening governance and control mechanisms, modernizing risk prevention and detection tools and promoting a culture of compliance across the institution.
Through this international recognition, STB reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, ethics, integrity and operational excellence, while underscoring its determination to align with the highest international standards and strengthen the confidence of clients, partners, investors and supervisory authorities.
The AML 30001 certification marks a major strategic milestone in the bank’s modernization process, positioning STB among the financial institutions most committed to combating financial crime and promoting stronger compliance practices in support of a safer, more transparent and more resilient financial system.
