Tunisia: “The Tunisian Administrators Institute” (ITA) serving good governance

“The Tunisian Administrators Institute (l’Institut Tunisien des Administrateurs (ITA)) that was launched during May 2009 by a group of administrators, in some private companies auditors and academics, in order to establish good governance within the Tunisian public and private companies, was the focal point of a meeting held on Monday in Tunis.

Through its action plans, programs and projects, the new Institute (ITA) aims at assisting members of boards of directors in fulfilling their duties, showing them the practices of governance and tools to promote transparency, said  Slaheddine Laâjimi, Director General of the Tunisia’s Arab International Bank (BIAT).

The founder of ITA will work to implement the action plan of the institution, considered as part of civil society, as it will disseminate the culture of sharing “expenses” within the boards of directors.

Youssef Kortobi, chairman of the Tunis Stock Exchange and . Salwa Smaoui Director General of Microsoft Tunisia.
