Tunisia: 1,537 projects out of 8,000 co-funded by BFPME

The Bank of Financing Small and Medium Enterprises (BFPME) has co-financed 1,537 projects from a total of 8,382 applications received until August 2015, according to the latest statistics from the Bank.

BFPME said 2/3 of the approved projects have already been completed, i.e. 1378 project.

For the realization of these projects, the average cost of each is 700 thousand dinars; the bank has invested 347.960 million dinars (MD).

The majority of projects financed by the bank were carried out in the sectors of agribusiness, i.e. 330 projects for a total investment of 80 MTD.

Next is the service sector with 292 projects approved for a total investment of 50.982 MTD, chemicals and plastics industries (140 projects) and building materials industries, ceramics and glass sector (115 projects).

The textile and clothing sector seems dynamic, despite the difficulties encountered in the commercialization of its products on the international market.

The proof is the number of projects approved by BFPME totaled 204 projects with a total investment of 28.908 MD. Some 90 projects in the agricultural sector have also been approved by BFPME for investments of around 15.295.

The bank is also ready to co-finance 86 projects in the ICT sector with investments of about 9,169 thousand dinars approved.
