Tunisia: 300-thousand-ton export contract for Carthage Cement

The Carthage Cement company announced that it had recently obtained the certification of its products, in accordance with the requirements of the CE marking (European standards), which will help it penetrate the European market.

In a press release, published on the Tunis Stock Exchange website, Carthage Cement stressed that the export contract for 150,000 tons of cement to Europe will become effective and will start in March 2020. It is the 1st tranche of 300-thousand-ton contract, notably to Italy and part to Russia and the Baltic countries according to our own sources.

This export comes after a first former market of some 600 thousand tons of clinker to West Africa made in 2019.

Carthage Cement (a confiscated company), which has experienced structural and financial difficulties in the recent years, is currently doing its utmost in terms of research, development and optimization of its processes in order to enhance the value of its products and achieve the goals of its Business plan.
