Tunisia: 47.4% decline in investment with foreign participation

Investments reported in the industrial sector fell 9% in the first quarter, Noureddine Taktak, Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) told Africanmanager, adding that this drop is due to the decline recorded in the areas of construction materials, mechanical and electrical industries and chemical industries.

As for foreign investment, a 47.4% decline was recorded by investment with foreign participation, and this, contrary to the investments made by Tunisians which rose 10.4%.

“This could be explained by the fear of investors who are still waiting for better visibility,” he explained.
