Tunisia: activities resume in Ras Jedir border crossing

Activities have resumed normally at the border crossing of Ras Jedir, which reopened to passengers and trade in both directions, after its closing Thursday, November 20, at the decision of the government crisis cell.

This closure was decided, as part of efforts to establish security during the period of the presidential election.

The border crossing of Ras Jedir experienced during the early hours of its reopening the influx of a large number of Libyan nationals to Tunisia; their number reached 3,500 from midnight to 8am.

The border crossings of Ras Jedir and Dhiba were also closed for the parliamentary elections last October 26, 2014.
