Exports of the textiles & clothing, leather and footwear sectors regained an upward pace to post respective increases of 5.9% and 6.7%, according to the Ministry of industry’s data released on Tuesday.
Exports of chemical industries increased by 43% and those of various industries went up 13%.
Industrial exports have risen to 15.2 MTD against 14.6 MTD during the same period of 2015, said the source.
For their part, non-food manufacturing industries posted an increase of 12.3%.
The industry department explained the rise in industrial exports by the 12.1 % growth in the mechanical and electrical industries (EMI) to 7.5 MTD, against 6.7 MTD during the same period in 2015.
