Mohamed Ben Salem, Minister of Agriculture Monday told Express fm Radio agricultural lands in Tunisia are not for sale.
There are only lands for rent, he added, thus putting an end to rumors indicating that the next investment code would allow foreigners to own agricultural lands.
On the other hand, and about locusts, he said there are, indeed, isolated swarms that were pushed by winds to the border areas with Algeria (Hizoua, Chbika, Deguèche …). He insisted that in addition to their low density, these swarms are not dangerous and do not require special treatment.
