Senior officials from the higher education sector and policymakers from Tunisia, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia took part in the 4th edition of Deep Dialogues, held in Cardiff, UK, from June 25 to 27.
Organized by the British Council, the event brought together over 43 participants from more than 21 countries, including government representatives, university leaders, and sector experts, to discuss the future of transnational education (TNE) and internationalization.
Discussions focused on new models of collaboration, equity, and innovation in higher education, in response to growing global demand. The World Bank projects a 70% rise in demand for quality higher education by 2030.
The MENA delegation included senior officials from ministries of higher education, top universities, and regulatory bodies, reflecting the region’s increasing commitment to global education dialogue.
Their presence underscored a shared dedication to building inclusive, innovative, and sustainable higher education models that align with local priorities while promoting international cooperation.
Over the three-day program, participants explored topics such as equitable transnational education strategies, sustainable institutional models, effective public policy, and the evolving needs of learners in a rapidly changing global landscape.
