Tunisia: ATB seeks Director for 3 years

As part of its efforts to strengthen corporate governance, the Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) is seeking applications for the appointment of an independent director for a three-year term.

According to the bank’s press release, “candidates must meet the conditions of good repute, integrity, impartiality, honesty, confidentiality, competence and experience appropriate to the role”.

In particular, candidates must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that is contrary to public morality or order, or to the laws governing companies, or be prohibited from holding office by reason of their position.

They must not have been the subject of an irrevocable judgement for forgery, theft, breach of trust, fraud or an offence punishable under the laws on fraud, extortion of funds or securities from another person, embezzlement by a public official, issuing a bad cheque, corruption or tax evasion, the receipt of goods obtained by means of these offences, or for breach of foreign exchange regulations or legislation relating to the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Must not have been a director or agent of a company convicted under the provisions of the Criminal Code relating to bankruptcy.

Not to have been dismissed from the administration or management of a company as a result of a sanction imposed by the Central Bank of Tunisia or by one of the authorities responsible for supervising the financial market or insurance and reinsurance companies or microfinance institutions, and a host of other conditions that would not be found in many elections!
