Tunisia: ATB’s NBI Grows by 14% in 2017 to 242 million dinars

The activity of the Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) continued its growth in 2017. The bank achieved a net banking income (NBI) of 242.5 million dinars against 212.3 million the previous year, up 14.2%.

 Credits reached 4.15 billion dinars at the end of December 2017, posting a rise of 13.5% over one year while the outstanding deposits of customers reached 4.68 billion dinars, up 14.8%. This increase is largely due to:

 – Rise in the volume of demand deposits that stood at 1.6 billion dinars (+ 17.12%)

– Good increase in savings accounts by 11.4%, which balance was 993 million dinars.

 In addition, the commercial securities portfolio amounted to 1 billion dinars at the end of December 2017, up 185.9 million, while the investment securities portfolio increased to 493.8 million, representing a growth of 31.9 million.

 Bank operating income increased by 16.46 percent to 445.1 million dinars while operating expenses reached 202.7 million dinars, up 19.3 percent.

 The operating expenses of the bank reached 134.2 million dinars at the end of December 2017 against 121.5 million dinars at the same date in 2016, posting a growth of 10.4%.
