The president of the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE), Shafik Sarsar, officially announced at a press conference Monday afternoon that Beji Caid Essebsi won the second round of presidential elections with 1,731,529 votes, or 55.68 %.
Moncef Marzouki, his competitor, got 1,378,513, or a rate of 44.32%.
As for the overall turnout, it amounted to 60.11%. The ISIE identified 50,585 invalid ballots and 28,755 blank votes.
