The Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie (BIAT) has announced the closure of its subordinated bond issue, “BIAT Subordonné 2026-1,” after reaching the maximum subscription amount of 250 million dinars.
Subscriptions, which opened on March 4, 2025, were closed on March 18, 2026, following the successful mobilization of the target capital.
The bond issue was initially launched without a public offering for an amount of 200 million dinars, with provisions allowing it to be increased to a maximum of 250 million dinars.
According to the bank, the issuance will enable BIAT to strengthen its capital base and improve its risk concentration ratios.
The move aligns with prudential regulations set by the Central Bank of Tunisia, particularly the requirements outlined in Circular No. 2016-03 of July 29, 2016, applicable to banks and financial institutions.
