Tunisia: Border posts in Jendouba see 24% increase in arrivals

The three land border posts in the governorate of Jendouba recorded a 24.31% increase in the number of entries, up to the end of November 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, reports Express FM.

According to statistics from the Regional Tourism Office of Tabarka–Aïn Draham, these posts: Melloula (Tabarka), Babouch (Aïn Draham), and Jelil (Ghardimaou), processed 1,413,199 Algerian tourists, compared to 1,136,834 during the same period in 2024.

This significant growth and the notable recovery observed at the border posts have had a positive impact on the tourism sector in the region, helping to boost economic activity and support the handicraft, tourist transport and other tourism-related sectors.

Domestic tourism leads in terms of arrivals and overnight stays, followed by the Algerian market, then the Polish and Libyan markets.

The Ministry of Tourism is working, in coordination with the relevant agencies, to improve the quality of services provided at all border posts, in order to facilitate the arrival of Algerian tourists.

It also plans to establish information offices to provide them with necessary guidance, ensuring good conditions for their stay in various Tunisian tourist destinations.

The region is expected to see a further increase in Algerian visitors during school holidays and the celebrations of the administrative New Year.
