Tunisia: British funding to support 120 SMEs

A partnership agreement was signed on Tuesday between the Ministry of Industry and SMEs and the Tunis Stock Exchange, with the aim of supporting the Investia PME programme run by the Tunis Stock Exchange and financed by the British Department for International Development (DFID), with 10 million dinars to support 120 Tunisian SMEs.

Minister of Industry and SMEs Slim Feriani stressed the importance of this agreement that will develop cooperation between the two signatory parties and promote the diversification of sources of finance for SMEs, through recourse to the financial market, which will boost the economic circuit and create new jobs.

The Minister underlined the importance of the partnership between the State and the private sector and the exchange of expertise to improve access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises.

This agreement will also strengthen the Ministry’s contribution to the program to support the financial restructuring of SMEs for the period 2018-2020 to support 600 companies through a budget of about 400 million dinars.
