Tunisia: Carthage Cement improves its half-yearly revenues by 61% to 164 million dinars

The company Carthage Cement has managed to increase production and sales of its three activities in the first half of 2021, thus consolidating its position as leader in the sector.

In fact, a considerable increase by 115% in sales, all activities combined, marked the second quarter 2021 from 38.5 to 82.7 million dinars.

This development has enabled the company to raise its total turnover to 163.8 million dinars, at the end of the first half of 2021, against 102 million for the same period of 2020, an increase of 61%.

Production saw a significant increase in this second quarter to 829 thousand tons of clinker and 612 thousand tons of cement on June 30, 2021, up 99% and 48%, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year.

The turnover on the local market posted a very significant rise of 69% in the second quarter to 123 million dinars on June 30, 2021 against 90 million at the end of June 2020.

On the export side, Carthage Cement continued to supply cement to its customers in Italy and Libya under the contracts concluded in 2020 and it was able to develop its customer portfolio in June 2021 by exporting its cement to the United Kingdom.

Therefore, the turnover from the export of cement reached 17 million dinars at the end of the first half of 2021 against 0.7 million for the same period of the previous year, a growth of 2120%.

The quantities of clinker sold for export generated a turnover of 9 million dinars at the end of June 30, 2021, up 755% compared to the previous year.

As of June 30, 2021, the overall debt reached 415 million dinars against 435 million as of 31/12/2020, down 5%.
