Tunisia: ”CAT 2012” set for November 28-30

“New Tunisia, New Opportunities” is the theme chosen for the Business and Technology Convention “CAT 2012,” to be held from November 28 to 30, 2012 in Tunis.

According to the website www.cat2012.tn, the event aims to promote Tunisia’s industry integration in the Euro-Mediterranean economic space, particularly by means of international technology and innovation networks, promote the strengthens of Tunisian entrepreneurship in the areas of partnership and investment and give concrete form to

innovative initiatives with high technological content.

The aim of this event, organized by the Agency for Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII), in association with the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts

(UTICA) and in cooperation with the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), is also to show foreign investors that Tunisia

remains an advantageous site with competitive incentives, an enabling business investment and a transparent regulatory framework.

CAT 2012 also intends to offer a real platform for businesses where decision-makers and leaders from various horizons can meet to share supply and demand opportunities in

innovative sectors with high growth potential: mechanical, electrical and electronic industries, agro food, technical plastics and plasturgy, technical textiles, new information

and communication technologies and pharmaceuticals.

A range of spaces will be provided for three days to facilitate all kinds of exchanges in the various components of the CAT 2012 business and technology convention.

These include an industrial development international fair with the participation of 300 Tunisian industrial and service companies integrated in the innovation process.

There will also be an international partnership space devoted to pre-planned B2B meetings with international counterparts (1,000 industrial companies from around the world

are expected to attend) and a conference space that will include the major debate and workshops on ICT, innovation, regional development and SME advancement.
