Tunisia: Chabchoub’s TGH Group expands in Africa thanks to Haytcom

The telecommunications division of Tawasol Group Holding, owned by the Chabchoub family, ended the second quarter of 2023 with a growth of 6.3%, with a turnover volume of TND 5,844 million, compared to TND 5,499 million in the same period.

Sales were boosted by the volume of exports, which grew by more than 30% during the period.

The division’s development was hampered by a lack of financial resources. The division consists of two companies, Haytcom and Retel Service. Retel Service operates exclusively in the optical fiber business and only on the national market.

In the DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo), Haytcom consolidated its market share by reinforcing several framework agreements with ZTE and by starting to work with a new customer, Africell.

In Ethiopia, a new collaboration with ZTE was established, which has improved sales in this country. Business growth in Ethiopia benefited in part from the installation of a second telephone operator.

In the Moroccan subsidiary, Tawasol saw the start of business with a new Nokia donor, with improved margins.
