The turnover of the company “Bizerte Cements” from local sales and exports increased by 5.6%, in the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, reaching 40 million dinars, according to data published on the website of the Tunis Stock Exchange.
The second quarter of 2019 was characterized by an overall turnover growth of 4.51% compared to the same period of 2018. It therefore reached 22.4 million dinars.
The company’s cement production fell slightly by 4.10% in the second quarter of 2019 (143,283 tons in the second quarter of 2019 compared with 149,417 tons in the second quarter of 2018).
In the second quarter of 2019, production units experienced a steady state of operation, which resulted in a rise in clinker production by 7.26% from 155,510 tons to 166,810 tons, up 11,300 tons.
The company expects a significant increase in the production of clinker and cement after the completion of annual maintenance work, which will meet the local demand and development of export, says the company.
Ciments de Bizerte is the second company specialized in cement production listed in the stock market in Tunisia.
