Tunisia: CMF presents results of survey on CSR practices of listed companies

The Financial Market Council (CMF) published on Thursday the results of a survey conducted by the Department of Accounting and Fiscal Studies (DECF) on best practices in good governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The aim of this survey is to assess the level of awareness of Tunisian listed companies with regard to the challenges and constraints that exist in this context, both nationally and internationally, and that directly or indirectly affect these companies, in particular the climate emergency.

In this context, the CMF carried out this survey in order to assess CSR practices and identify the main CSR issues faced by the largest listed companies, particularly in terms of CSR strategies adopted, CSR actions taken and CSR reporting.

The sample was made up of the 20 companies listed on the TSE with the largest market capitalization on September 4, representing 81% of the total market capitalization on that date.

This choice stems from the recognition that market capitalization is the primary criterion for assessing the size and value of a company in relation to its peers.

Indeed, this indicator is crucial for any listed company, as it is generally accepted that a company’s size influences its level of development and its ability to effectively integrate a structured CSR approach.
