As part of the Tunisian-American cooperation, the Ministry of Commerce, the Tunisian Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) and the Business Reform & Competitiveness Project program (BRCP) of USAID have set up a Coaching Plan for Tunisian companies operating in the textile sector.
The objective of this program is to strengthen the competitiveness of Tunisian companies and facilitate their access to the German market.
The choice of the German market has been driven by the low penetration of Tunisian companies in this market and the potential it has.
Visits to German buyers for the benefit of Tunisian companies were planned from April 7 to 10, 2015 in the south of Germany, home of the fashion business.
Six companies specializing in knitwear industry and ready-to-wear garments for women among the best performing in the sector attended the event. Five German economic decision-makers have been visited and thirty contacts were made in the course of such visits to develop business opportunities for Tunisian companies.
This first Tunisian action, framed by CEPEX, aims to promote the textile and clothing sector among German clients, by highlighting its short circuit supply, proximity sourcing and its potential for design and creation.
A second visit was planned as part of the same program for specialized textile companies in jeans and sportswear. It will be made from April 14 to 19, 2015 in other German cities.
