Divona/Orange – France Télécom Consortium has been shortlisted as the tenderer having forwarded the best technical bid for the second- and third- generation mobile telephony license, the Communication Technologies Ministry announced, on Monday, in a communiqué.
The latter adds that granting of this license is temporary, pending meeting of conditions set forth in the international tender’s regulatory procedures.
Coming into service of a new telecommunications operator aims at contributing to boosting the telecommunications sector landscape (fixed, broadband Internet and mobile), strengthening investment and employment and backing up Tunisia’s business environment.
The Communication Technologies Ministry indicates that the 2009-283 decree, dated February 2009, sets the conditions and procedures for granting licence to set up and utilise a public telecommunication network to provide fixed and mobile telecommunications services of 2nd and 3rd generations.
