Tunisia: domestic tourism in Nabeul up 11.4% in Q1 2016

Domestic tourism in Nabeul recorded a growth of 11.4 pc in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the regional tourism commissioner in Nabeul.

Regional commissioner of tourism in Nabeul, Ezzeddine Grami said in a statement to TAP that the number overnight stays recorded in the first quarter is estimated at 64,519 against 57,925 in 2015 whereas the number of visitors is around 36,724.

The number of foreign tourists was down by almost 37pc, noted Grami. The regional tourism commission in Nabeul covers areas of Nabeul and Hammamet with 117 hotel units with a total capacity of over 40,000 beds.
