Tunisia: e-commerce transactions most reach level of entire year 2016

The number of shopping sites in Tunisia amounted to 1,193 generating 1,099 million transactions for a volume of 92.2 million dinars, corresponding to an average of 4,026 transactions / day on September 30, 2017, Khaled Bettaieb, Director General of “Monétique Tunisie” Company (SMT), told AfricanManager on Thursday.

Asked about the future of e-commerce in Tunisia, Bettaieb told us that 2017 is a promising year, since the activity during the first nine months is close to the year 2016, which recorded 1,132 million transactions for a volume of 104.2 million dinars.

“The main business areas of e-commerce are invoice settlement, telephone recharge, purchase of flight tickets and” deals and bundles “, he said.
